What is the brain?

The brain is by far the most amazing component of the human body. It controls our bodies affection, growth, body temperature, coordination, balance, sleep, learning, taste, speech, moral, judgment, problem solving, hand-eye coordination, aggression, creativity, meditation, and sexuality. It is amazing that something just 2.5% of our body's weight can govern our entire body.

Basically, the brain is a bag of a whole bunch of nerves going all over the place. The nerves are made of small particles called neurons. Neurons do not touch each other, so the only way they can connect is by using small electrical snaps going off in between the neurons. These are called synapses.

The brain is made up of billions of nerve cells that are divided into many different parts of the brain, which control specific functions like emotion, memory, and judgement. Specific parts of the brain relay information throughout the body so that the body can perform its day to day functions.

There are many synapses going off in your head all of the time. Through synapses you are able to move, feel emotions, and do all the other things your brain allows you to do. Synapses are how your brain communicates with the rest of your body, and without them we wouldn't be able to do anything.
